Horses with hock problems - chiropractor for horses south of boston northshore boston cape cod nantucket

The hock is the the achilles tendon and heel in humans. The tendon is originating from the calf muscle which is attached to the back of the stifle as well which moves dependent on the pelvis. Some horses get arthritis in the hock from repetitive movement issues in the stifle and pelvis and some just have inflammation of the tendon.

Your vet will inject for pain and inflammation but this will not correct any abnormal biomechanical movements that cause the pain. If your vet is not trained in animal chiropractic then they will not look to these other causes.

Please contact Dr Bruce with any questions. Chiropractic is not a substitute for Vet care but rather augments it.

Back pain in dogs-chiropractor for dogs south shore boston-boston -cape cod

Dogs with back pain will usually round up their back called a "roached" back. They may have sensitivity when petiing or grooming. Dogs will also not like to jump up or down off items around house.
The most vulnerable area of a dogs spine is where the ribs end and the lumbar spine begins.

IVDD stands for intervertebral disc disease, in plain terms.... Slipped disc. IVDD is not as common as subluxation ( vertebrae that lock in movement and pinch nerves). All dogs can have this occur, not just corgies as seen in this picture.
Animal chiropractors are skilled in treating these dogs to help fix the problem, not just medicate for pain. If your Vet has cleared your dog of any organ and or disease issues then please contact an animal chiropractor.
