Dogs need a 10 to 15 min warm up before exercise such as a fast pace walk which will improve flexibility and heat up the muscle. This will also reduce strain and improve oxygen utilization due to increased hemoglobin release. Post exercise cool down 15 min w slow walk to dissipate waste products in the body and slowly decrease cardiac output which will prevent blood pooling in muscles and reduce soreness.
