Pain is a funny thing. Sometimes it is there and sometimes it is not.
Focus on the pain only and you have missed more that 50 percent of the
problem. Facet joints of the spine [these are the joints that define movement] transmit sensory nerves to the facet
joint about and below it as well as send messages to the brain about
facet joint movement. If the animal has a subluxation [joints not moving well and irritating nerves] and thus facet
joint issues then pain will be transmitted to other locations. Upon
palpation there may be a reaction [pain] in a facet joint that is not
the primary issue at hand. Palpation of the spine to find subluxations will help determine where to adjust. Checking muscles
for hypertonicity will help locate the region to check as well.
