How to know if your horse has stifle or back problems - Chiropractor for Horses Mass
Often it is difficult to tell if it is the stifle, hock or back that is causing lameness. Have your Vet evaluate the hock and stifle by doing xray and nerve block. Even if it is the Hock or Stifle your horse will develop subluxations in the low back, pelvis and or neck since he is compensating. The Subluxation may have started first and then caused the hock and or stifle problem from compensation as well. Many times you will see a horse throwing the head up to shift body weight backward to the pelvis in order to engage the hind end and move forward. This head throwing is a sign that your horse needs a chiropractor as well.
