The following will be effective if you perform specific exercises and have your sacroiliac joints checked by the chiropractor. contact Dr Bruce Indek at 781-337-1180 or email at indekchiropractic@gmail.com

"The pelvic tilt is a controlled movement of the pelvis using the lower back muscles and the abdominal. If the lower abdominal contract the pelvis will tilt backwards, (middle diagram)your lower back will round or flex or bend and your seat bones will tuck underneath you. When your lower back muscles contract the pelvis will tilt forwards (left diagram)and the lower back will arch. When the muscles are resting the pelvis will be in a neutral position (right diagram)

This forwards and backwards movement is the pelvic tilt and it is very important for horse riders to be able to control and use.
By isolating one of these muscle groups the rider can use their seat in the saddle effectively to apply aids. The ability to control and actually do this is extremely important for horse riders. This is the beginning of an independent deep seat."
