Disc problems occur in dogs as they do in people. The disc is like a jelly donut, the jelly represents the nucleus gel and the dough represents the rings of cartiledge. Sometimes ur dor may twist or jump and tear the cartiledge thus causing the gel to ooze putting pressure on nerves to the legs and organs such as the bladder or intestines if the issue is low back. When the disc is in the neck it affects eating, drinking and front legs.
Chiropractic adjustments can help the gel gravitate back into the disc as well as improve movement of the spine which will help with recovery and prevent a re-occurance. I also give the owners rehab exercises to do to strengthen their dogs core.
