Omega 3 for dogs - Dog Chiropractor Mass

Many owners give their dogs flaxseed oil or flaxseed for Omega 3 supplements. Flaxseed oil has a form of Omega 3 called ALA. ALA has to be converted to a useful form in the body. Dogs do not have the enzymes within their digestive tract that can perform this task. Thus Omega 3 from fish oil is the choice that should be made for any skin issues and anti-inflam. use since fish oil already has the form of Omega 3 that their body can use. There are many Omega 3 fish oils on the market. The one I use in the office is naturally flavored with a beef extract so the fishy smell is diminished and all the dogs love it!
