arthritis in dogs - chiropractor for dogs south shore boston and cape cod mass

Typical area of arthritis is in the hind end. Dogs carry 60 percent of their body wt on the front legs normally, so arthritis will cause a dog to shift the wt distribution and carry even more wt on the front end. This increase wt distrib. will cause neck and shoulder problems. This is not a Vet problem and the usual treatment from your vet will  be meds for pain.

Animal chiropractic will evaluate your dog in a way the vet does not with particular attention to bio-mechanics. If your dog has subluxation in the neck and or shoulder adjustments will correct this and improve movement and decrease pain.

jaw clicking in dogs - chiropractor for dogs south shore boston and cape cod mass

Jaw clicking can be caused by a TMJ [jaw problem in the joint} or an upper cervical subluxation. If your dog is eating and drinking but you notice a click from time to time in the jaw, the tmj may be slightly locked and when the jaw opens enough the joint releases and goes pop.  Teeth issues can cause this so always have your dog checked by the Vet.

If the Vet clears them of teeth issues then have an animal chiropractor evaluate your dog. Working on the TMJ doing some exercises and adjusting the upper cervical spine will often correct this. A Dog that does bite work can be prone to this. Not treated can lead to eating difficulty, uneven teeth and pain.

Call or email me with any questions.

Back pain in dogs - Dog Chiropractor south shore boston

Dogs with back pain usually exhibit a 'roached" back. This means they arch up the back to take the stress off the spinal joints. The tail is usually tucked under as well. Once your vet has cleared your dog of any diseases, a animal chiropractor is the next step. As a certified animal chiropractor I will examine your dog in a way that your vet will not, namely the bio-mechanics of movement which your vet is not skilled in.

Adjustments to the spine with exercises usually clears up the problem. The cause is usually a subluxation within the spine [ joints that are locked and irritating nerves].

I travel to your home for visits so I will go to the north shore boston and south shore as well as cape cod since I have many other dogs in these areas.

Please call me at 781-337-1180 or email me at

chiropractor for dog and horse that is lame in MA- chiropractor for dog and horse north and south shore boston

Lameness changes movement in all areas of the animal due to compensation. It is imperative to evaluate all areas of the animal. Many times if the lameness is in the front the actual cause imay be in the hind end.

When I see the dogs and horses I always evaluate the entire animal. If you use your dog or horse in a performance activity such as agility and dressage or jumping then your animal needs regular chiropractic evaluations to keep your animal at their optimum. You as an owner are asking them to do activity that is beyond the normal day to day life of the animal thus the need to have ongoing chiropractic evaluations will keep them bio-mechanically sound.

Animal Chiropractic evaluates the animal on a bio-mechanical level not just on a disease or injury level.

back pain in dog - chiropractor for dog south shore of mass and cape cod

back pain in dogs is usually treated by your vet for pain and inflammation only as long as there is no disease process.
The difference between chiropractic and vet care for back pain is that the chiropractor will look for the biomechanical [subluxation] cause of pain and adjust the spine to remove the subluxation and pain.
There is a difference between acute care and wellness care. Most owners opt for ongoing wellness care after the subluxation is removed. Subluxations usually occur long before the pain starts so wellness care will correct subluxations long before the emergency occurs. Wellness care is usually a once per month visit to evaluate your dog for subluxation and keep your dog healthy naturally.
You must remember that most of the pain meds are toxic to the liver and kidney so if you can avoid them with chiropractic care your dog is better off.

Chiropractor for horse with sensitive low back - horse chiropractor north and south shore boston

Many times i find horses with muscle soreness in the low back due to subluxations ( spinal joints that are locked in movement irritating spinal nerves. ) The cause can vary but typically a saddle that has a narrow gullet as well as ulcers can be the culprit.

When i evaluate your horse i will eval ur saddle and ask if ur vet has been out for the possible ulcer issue. Even if one of these two are the cause the simple fact of removing them will not remove the subluxation and muscle soreness but at least the irritants have been taken away.

Adjusting the spine and doing some therapy that is specific to your horse will help solve the problem.

Spinal stenosis chiropractor weymouth mass

Stenosis is a narrowing of a opening such as in the spine where the nerves exit or where the spinal cord is located.

Chiropractic can help prevent as well as treat stenosis.
Gently working on the spine to open up the space and improve mobility will reduce the symptoms and slow to stop progression. Chiropractic adjustments throughout your life time will decrease the potential for stenosis to occur.

Medicine has no answers for stenosis unless it is so bad u need surgery. Pain pills will eventually damage your liver and kidneys.

Please contact Dr Indek to discuss your stenosis at or call at 781-337-1180
