jaw clicking in dogs - chiropractor for dogs south shore boston and cape cod mass

Jaw clicking can be caused by a TMJ [jaw problem in the joint} or an upper cervical subluxation. If your dog is eating and drinking but you notice a click from time to time in the jaw, the tmj may be slightly locked and when the jaw opens enough the joint releases and goes pop.  Teeth issues can cause this so always have your dog checked by the Vet.

If the Vet clears them of teeth issues then have an animal chiropractor evaluate your dog. Working on the TMJ doing some exercises and adjusting the upper cervical spine will often correct this. A Dog that does bite work can be prone to this. Not treated can lead to eating difficulty, uneven teeth and pain.
