Bunny hopping in dogs - dog chiropractor south shore boston- cape cod - boston

Dogs that bunny hop may have low back and or sacroiliac  (si)( pelvis) problems. Sometimes it may be a stifle problem as well.

The SI may be subluxated thus not allowing the pelvis to rotate and carry the legs into normal flexion and extension so that when your dog runs the legs work individually and not together like a bunny.
There also may be tight muscles and adaptation in the lumbar spine w subluxation as well.

If the bunny hopping is subluxation and muscle based then xrays will probably be negative.
It is always a good idea to have your vet evaluate for pathology but if none are present then animal chiropractic would be a great next step. Chiropractic adjustments along with myofascial work and exercises can do wonders for this problem.
